Before & After pictures

2 weeks post op!

Uninterrupted sleep is still hard to come by these days. But, other than that, no complaints!

Sleepy Thursday

Our sound sleeper is up a lot lately at night. I think we can blame teething. Robby is cutting all 4 top teeth at the same time and a few bottom (maybe even top?) molars are also coming in.

Can't believe tomorrow he will be 2 weeks post op! He is doing really well.

Since Robby was under anesthesia we had them draw blood for this test. Here's the results:

At least he can eat crabs and chocolate :-)

Hard to believe surgery was one week ago this morning.

before and after pictures

The first 2 pictures are "before" and the last one is "after" and not a very good one but, you can still see a much rounder, broader forehead with no triangular point or pinching at the temples. (he is facing towards the left side) I'll post better pictures later.

It's 1:30 and Robby has been sleeping for an hour in his crib. Woo Hoo!

12 noon Weds (Day 6)

Lunchtime

Weds morning (Day 6)

It was the toughest night yet. How can he have such a great day and terrible night? He slept in 1-2 hour increments in his crib. I am reminded of him being a newborn. He is uncomfortable, clingy and very tired. He doesn't have much of an appetite and is refusing his Tylenol and antibiotics which he usually is eager to take. We're having to sneak it in or force it in. No fun.

At least he is easily distracted by playing which is a good thing.
 :-)

Mom and Dad are running on empty. Hopefully Robby will rest better today.

Nite nite

8pm Tues.  Hopefully a good nights sleep. (An hour or so after this Robby started blowing kisses. He is full of tricks these days. And, what a great way to avoid bed :-)

Robby's favorite!

3:30pm Tues.  Improving by the minute and enjoying some fresh air and a wagon ride on a beautiful day.

On a lighter note...

Received a refund check from labcorp today of 30 cents.  It cost 35 cents to mail it.  :)

2pm Tuesday (Day 5)

Good mood after a nice nap.  Swelling continues to go down.

Let's try this again. (Day 5)

10:45am.  Nap was short.  Dose of tylenol and let's try this again.

First nap in my crib (Day 5)

10am Tues Oct 12.  First nap in my crib since last Weds morning Oct 6.

Tues Morning (Day 5)

After a rough night Robbys eyes are opening a little more.  A few more laughs this morning and even a temper tantrum.

Dada! (Day 4)

This was a few minutes after Robby's eyes started opening on Monday afternoon.  He was so happy to be able to see again. (Note how he opens his mouth wide in attempt to open his eyes more).

Eyes opening! (Day 4)

Eyes beginning to open 76 hrs after surgery.  And a happier baby.  We have a smile.

HOME! (Day 4)

Home at 1pm. Thanks Shannon, Roy, Addie and Elli! We love our homecoming balloons!

Landed at Dulles (Day 4)

Almost home!

Resting

Resting after a spongebath.  On schedule for 8am flight home tomorrow morning.

Discharged!

Robby was discharged today and seems to know it. I know it seems crazy that his stay was so short but, the doctor says at this point, it is safer for Robby to be out of the hospital than in it.

He perked right up when we were leaving.

Robby's Wagon Ride

Wagon ride out of the PICU to a new room at about 3PM Saturday.

Good News

The latest hemoglobin results came back in.  His levels rose to 7.6.  Dr Fearon was happy with the levels.  His hemoglobin will not need to be monitored again.  It is now 4:40PM.  We have been moved out of PICU to a regular room.  Robby is resting well, signing for "milk", and waving bye bye.  He can't see anything, his eyes are swollen shut but he's communicating just fine.  Sorry for not posting sooner, my hands have been full.

Recovery Buddies

Both boys had a better 2nd night resting in mommy's arms and being detached from monitors.
